For those who desire an exclusive and enchanting holiday and choose to experience Tuscany in an elegant and refined setting. Set on the top of the highest hill between San Gimignano and Volterra, during the Middle Ages it was known as the "Mons Igneus", meaning "the mount of fire", referring to the signal fire that was lit to warn the inhabitants of San Gimignano of an impending assault from the army of Volterra. Up to the end of 1700’s the castle was the object of numerous conquests as a result of its strategic position between San Gimignano, Volterra and Pisa.

Standing proudly within its strong walls beside the dependence, the Villa is surrounded by a large private park: 9 hectares of woods and garden that provide intimacy and absolute privacy for our guests as well as the possibility to enjoy enchanting walks and relaxing afternoons passed outside.

Both the villa and dependence are furnished in sober and tasteful manner, simple and elegant at the same time, and with respect to the rustic Tuscan style. Extreme attention has been paid to the details and the most refined handcraft works utilized, from lime putty plastered and painted walls to luxurious bathrooms and a kitchen entirely in Carrara marble, from warm floors in Impruneta Terracotta to the exclusive terrace in Pienza Travertine from prestigious lacunar ceilings on the ground floor to the charming and traditional wooden beam ceilings on the first floor.

Villa (500 sq. m. - 4+2 guests). The ground floor consists of a big open gallery (loggia), an entrance hall, a very spacious living room and a large dining room both with fire-place, a bathroom for guests and a 10 X 6,50 sq. m. kitchen both in light grey solid marble, and a store-room.

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, each with a bathroom in solid statuary marble and gilt fittings, in addition a roomy study (which can be used as an additional bedroom) and a terrace overlooking the swimming pool.

The second floor, apart from a small bedroom for children, is kept as a mansard.

Dependance (300 sq. m. – 12+2 guests). On the ground floor there is a large living room with sofa bed, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and the laundry room. On the first floor there is one double bedroom for guests with bathroom, and 5 other bedrooms (four double bedrooms and one small bedroom with a bunk bed) with 3 separate bathrooms available.

Special care has been taken to provide the villa with all modern comforts: satellite TV, telephone, independent heating, a laundry room, 6 burner-gas stove in kitchen, dishwasher, two refrigerators, one deep freeze and an ice machine. Bed/bath/table linen are provided, except for swimming-pool towels (on request). At guests' disposal garden furniture, as tables, chairs, sunshades, deck-chairs for the terrace, loggia and swimming pool. Air-conditioning is now available in the bedrooms.
