Located in the heart of Positano, this elegant eight-bedroom villa is the perfect place for a refined break on one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the Mediterranean. Property 8172 boasts a panoramic terrace with a pool and sweeping views of the town, providing the ultimate retreat on the Amalfi Coast. The Sorrentine Peninsula juts into the sea like a pointing finger, its rugged shores sprinkled with some of Italy’s most spectacular beaches, while its bucolic interior is moulded by the limestone Monti Lattari.

The sight of Positano from a distance is breathtaking. Colour is everywhere, reflecting on the tranquil sea, the silvery pebbled beach, and the gleaming Majolica-domed church of Santa Maria Assunta. The houses, built up from the waterside and accessible to one another via an endless array of steep stairs, boast pale sorbet colours. In summer, when the serried ranks of sunbeds fill up quickly, take a boat to explore the many small coves along the coast.

The centre of Sorrento is laid out on a Roman grid of narrow lanes now lined with restaurants serving pasta and shops selling souvenirs. But away from the well-worn paths are little-explored nooks and crannies. Traditional greengrocers and haberdashers huddle behind wooden shop fronts, along with the medieval palaces on Via Pietà, the magnificent courtyard of Palazzo Correale, and artisan workshops producing the wood intarsia for which the town became famous in the 18th century.

There's much to be said for leaving the best until last, and for many, Ravello is the jewel in the coastal crown. If Positano is the glamour-puss of the Amalfi Coast, Ravello is its refined, aristocratic cousin. Nestled high on a hill above the sea, Ravello is famous for its secluded villas, ravishing gardens, and magnificent views. Its romantic sense of faded glory has inspired a steady stream of writers, artists, and musicians since the days of the Grand Tour.

Sorrento is 15 km from the villa, Conca dei Marini is 15 km, Amalfi is 18 km, Vico Equense is 20 km, Nerano is 23 km, Ravello is 25 km, Maiori is 25 km, Pompeii is 35 km, Herculaneum is 51 km, and Naples is 57 km. The villa is just 1.3 km from the centre of Positano, where all necessary services can be easily found.

The Property
Located in the picturesque hilltop town of Positano, Property 8172 boasts a generous terrace and expansive panoramic views, providing the ultimate retreat in one of the most evocative corners of the Amalfi Coast. Originally the residence of local noble families, Property 8172 has been masterfully renovated and transformed into a luxury villa with all modern comforts. This magnificent historic villa can accommodate up to sixteen guests, featuring 7 + 1 double bedrooms spread over three floors.

With spectacular views of the town and the crystal-clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, this elegant villa offers generous terraces and idyllic spots for basking in the sun and enjoying the sea breeze. Providing a calm atmosphere, the villa features an exceptional swimming pool and a paved poolside area furnished with comfortable sun loungers and deckchairs, inviting guests to sit back and unwind. The outdoor area also boasts a second terrace with a large dining table for al fresco dining.

The main level features a generous living room with comfortable sofas, a dining room, a professional kitchen, and a master bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower. On the lower level, you will find two junior bedrooms with queen-size beds sharing one bathroom with a shower. The upper level houses four master bedrooms with king-size beds, each with an en-suite bathroom with a tub and shower, as well as a double bedroom with a queen-size bed. Please note that this bedroom with a queen-size bed does not have windows and is available on request.

The main level has direct access to the beautiful terrace with the swimming pool. The large garden spreads over 750 square metres across four spacious terraces, while the interiors encompass a surface area of 450 square metres. As this area is perched on steep cliffs, there are very few private pools, especially in the centre of the town. The villa also features two additional bathrooms, one situated next to the main entrance and one in the pool area.

The villa comprises seven bedrooms plus one extra bedroom, which is available on request. Please note that the eighth bedroom, which is available on request, does not have windows. Additionally, this extra bedroom does not have its own private or en-suite bathroom, so if requested, the guests of this extra bedroom will need to share the bathroom of another bedroom. Villa Belvedere is one of the few villas on the Amalfi Coast that can be accessed without having to climb too many steps.
